February 27, 2021. The Camden Classic Cup (home of the New England Dolphin 24 Championships) -, cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, has been scheduled for July 29-31. Below is the official announcement (edited). Marionette (Marscot/O'Day #12) and Maya Elena #?, 1972 Yankee) are already entered. Early entries get free dockage!!!.

Here is the email Marionette received -

Greetings,

I hope this email finds you all well! As a past participant or current registrant, you are receiving this email.

We are very excited to be planning the 5th Annual Camden Classics Cup, July 29-31st.

The regatta structure this year will be a little different based on current CDC Covid guidelines and construction of a new Lyman-Morse Camden facility. What will be the same is great racing on Penobscot Bay with evenings spent in beautiful Camden, Maine.

Details on post-racing events are coming together. State regulations limit gatherings to 100 people, so we won't be hosting a monster dance party for 600 this year. However, that won't stop us from celebrating. What we all learned last summer was that boats are by their very nature "pods". Building off that, your boat will not only be your racing platform but your party platform. Saturday night will feature a Mooring Ball. Larry Williams and his 8-piece band will be set up on a barge to provide the dance tunes. Get groovy in the cockpit of your boat, or swing by in your dinghy.

Stone Cove Catering is creating a food and cocktail takeout menu. We are busy with these details and logistics to make this fun, law abiding and safe for everyone.

As of this email there are 49 boats on the Scratch Sheet. Check the Scratch Sheet to confirm that you are on it. If you are not registered, friendly reminder that dock space is filling up so you know what to do - click the Register Today button below. Many thanks again to Stephens Waring Yacht Design who are sponsoring dockage.

We would like to thank our sponsors! Take a look at the list and we hope you will express your thanks to them for their support.

Get ready to race!

Sincerely,

The Camden Classics Cup Team

Stay tuned

November 23, 2021 - In over the transom an email and great photos of Marionette taken by John Williams, a local Camden photographer who knows Marionette - minor edits.

Hi Ron

When I turn my desk chair and look down Arey Ave I can see Marionette, recently arrived, now parked in Wayfarer’s Bean Yard. (Webmaster Note: Marionette will be wintering in Camden!!) We met and talked, if ever so briefly, last summer down on the Camden docks. Here is a photo of you and Marionette taken last July 30 during the Camden Classics Cup Race. Thought you’d like to see.

It’s also in this album. https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnarey/albums/72157719750126867

Will keep an eye on your boat. We live here in Camden year-round. Look forward to possibly crossing paths again, perhaps next summer, when sailing season begins once again.

Below is what I see of her from our house in Camden. Will stay in touch and let you know when I see Marionette go under her winter cover. And I look forward to seeing you in the future when you are up here.

Happy Thanksgiving,

John

waiting for her winter cover
