December 1, 2018. The earthquake in Alaska prompted a webmaster followup email to Ben - we got the following email from him. Omoo has been sold. We'll standby for Jackson to check in - and he did!!

Hey Ron,

We actually sold the Om to our friend Jackson, as we’ve left the country on an extended honeymoon.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ron,

Thanks for maintaining that website, its been extremely useful several times already. The Omoo has been rechristened Tern, complete with smashing a bottle of the local favorite across the bow. I'll send you a picture soon.

No damage at all from the Earthquake here in Sitka.

Jackson (all my friends call me Jackson)

Webmaster Note: Ok, what's with this name? The highly literate among us would know Omoo: A Narrative of Adventures in the South Seas is the second book by American writer Herman Melville. Click here to read Penn State's online electronic version of the book. Or, click here to just read the Wiki summary.

Standing by for Omoo's picture
