August 5, 2014. Cuff Blakeley checking in as the present owner of Promise

Hello Ron, I just found the Dolphin web site. Wow, it is incredible. I bought the boat from Scott just over three years ago and am now leaving Sitka for land locked areas so am selling it. I didn't know how to confirm that on the roster. It has been a wonderful boat for us!

Best Regards,

Cuff

May 1, 2011. DFI Bob Johnson (Delphinidae) advised us that a Yankee Dolphin in Sitka, Alaska was for sale on CraigsList. To our knowledge we have only one there. Here is the ad and the link.

We did connect with Scott and here is his email and your webmaster's reply:

She is for sale considering all offers only because I moved from Sitka to Bozeman, Montana and can't get up to Sitka enough to justify having a boat up there

Scott

Hi Scott
Thank for the reply. You should know that Flathead Lake, about 200 crow fly miles from Bozeman is supposed to be a great lake to sail on, and already has 2 Dolphins sailing  there -  Fanny, Yankee #98 http://dolphin24.org/fanny_107.html, and Tiki, a Southern Pacific wandering Dolphin, #107 http://dolphin24.org/kiwi_tahiti.html

June 13, 2011. Scott checked in with the following (edited) email. Stay tuned for more and pictures.

                                                                                        June 13, 2008

Hi

I bought Promise, Yankee hull #155, 1969-70, about 3 years ago and have been sailing in southeast Alaska since. We are hailing out of  Sitka, AK. She a great boat and hasn't failed us yet - just wish us Dolphin owners could stand up in the cabin. (Webmaster Note: this issue has been noted and will be taken up with the proper authorities)

I was also interested to hear if anyone has had luck making a hard dodger for the boat

Scott Hastings (Salzar?)
