I finally gave up on my Dolphin's original early 60's Palmer Huskie. It runs fine, still has good compression. I have had offers.
Anyone have any idea whether it is considered an antique and what it might be worth?

Hi Gary
3-4 years ago we pulled a working Palmer Huskie from Passage (Hull #10) and had it reconditioned, spending about $1000 with a
guy in Mystic, CT who had a lot of experience with these motors. At that time, he said an engine in decent working condition
would be worth $1000-$1500 - provided you could find a buyer who wanted one. Other than restorations there is not much of a
market. He thought that, other than in a sailboat being restored, it would make a great little engine in a 'classic' open lake
or river launch. Easy access would make maintenance easy and, depending on the set up, reduce the gas fumes safety issue.
Spare parts for maintenance is a problem. We bought an old, non working engine just for the parts.
You might try placing a short classified ad in GOB and similar DYI focused marine specialty mags. Good Luck.
Good Luck
ps Passage is still in the restoration phases with the engine sitting on bench. We sometimes think about her power options too.
And, that river launch with little canopy, small bar, a few comfortable chairs, little entertainment center, etc would make a
great project...

Thanks for the info. Good idea to place an ad in GOB, etc. Not sure its worth $1000 but will see. Gary
