I'm very curious about the mainsails in the Wilmette fleet. How did this change come about? Who designed the new sail plan? Most importantly, how do the boats sail compared to the original sail plan?

It looks a bit odd with the long boom and the short foot. I presume the reason for that is to keep the traveller aft of the cockpit. Has anyone shortened the boom and moved the traveller forward in the cockpit?

I'd love to hear more about the fleet in Wilmette.

Jack Farley, the Wilmette Fleet Historian, and one of the movers that got the Fleet to change to high aspect mains promises an article to answer all your questions. I suspect there are pros and cons and Jack is a pro. It would be good to hear from some of the cons too.
