I am wondering how many Dolphins have full batten mainsails.

Would love to have some opinions from the Dolphin owners: pros vs cons.

Hi J
Marionette, #12, has a high roach main with longer than normal, but not full, battens. The sail has had a lot of use, is 15 yrs old, and still looks good. And performs well in racing although I must admit crew asks questions like - how old did you say that main was???

There are a lot of pros and cons re fully battened sails - When I made my decision the Cons were too con and I went for an 'in-between" sail, and I am not sorry I did.

Check out the forums on the web. Here's a few links

Good Luck, and let us know what you decide

Ron:

Thanks for the list of links. I am making my way through them. The last link, though, does not seem to want to end up anywhere in particular. I went through the Kemp website and could not find the article you might be suggesting.

I would also like to hear from anyone who has had a full batten main on their Dolphin.

Most Warmly, J & #175

I couldn't find that article either, so I deleted the reference
