Hi all
If you check out the Whats New section today you will see we are starting the first of several new sections dealing with masts and related
stuff. This particular section is about mast struts, arches and things related to this subject. We want any new imput you might have.
Contact me directly or respond here on the Forum.
Thanks

Hi
I was inspecting and removing the standing rigging this week and noticed what appeared to be a crack in one of the flanges on masthead
fitting which holds the back stay. Upon inspection and a bit of tapping resulting in a hollow sound. I put a pin through the flange hole
and easily twisted the flange off. It looks like the fitting had hit the ground at some point.
I am now in search of a replacement mast head fitting or anyone's input on fabricating a new one. My mast is the race track oval (round
front and back with flat sides) Yankee Dolphin 168 1972
Thanks

Hi Brad
I'm assuming you have read the Technical Section article on masts?
http://www.dolphin24.org/technical_masts.html
If you go to the part dealing with mast sections you may find your particular section. Anyway, both Dwyer and Kenyon makes/supplies masthead fittings. Their websites are shown there.
Let us know what develops

Hi Ron
I sent emails with photos and a drawing of the fitting. to US Spar, Dwyer and Rig-rite (Rig-Rite just returned as undeliverable) and
searching for others. I was hoping someone could tell me which mast section I have.
3.5"x5" round ends with flat sides. Symmetrical in both directions.
Is there a list of who supplied Yankee Dolphin with masts?

Brad
Can you send me a photo of your mast section and a dimensioned sketch? And maybe even a photo of your old masthead fitting? To:
RonBreault@dolphin24.org.
We do not have Yankee's mast builder but I'll try and find out - Kenyon, I suspect
