Mike Friel, Makarios, Yankee #244, sent in this PDF file found on the Internet showing a way to protect your immersed prop and shaft from barnacles. We'll reserve judgement on this idea until we have field testing results.....

Came across this article on another site and thought it would be worth a try. I think in the Forum somebody may have alluded to this technique. Leaving the boat on a mooring up in Maine there would be a real problem with marine growth fouling the external and internal cooling water surfaces.

Protection for your outboard's prop
This modified 5-gallon bucket prevents the buildup of barnacles or marine growth on an
