October 3, 2011. The Cape Dory website hosted a discussion back in September, 2002 regarding the relative merits of the Cape Dory 25 vs the Dolphin 24. This is the link http://www.capedory.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=9041

The Yankee Dolphin and the Pacific Dolphin are the same boat. The Dolphin is a 24-foot S&S design. I have a friend that has a Yankee Dolphin. The boat's name is Starbuck. I believe the Yankee Dolphin was built by Yankee Yachts and the Pacific Dolphin was built by Pacific Dolphin, Inc. But I'm not sure. (I know both companys were somehow related. Maybe Pacific Dolphin supplied Yankee Dolphin?) You'll also find earlier Dolphins built by O'Day (the originals) and Lunn Laminates Inc.
The Dolphin Class web site isn't very well put together so I'll point you to some of their pages where you can find more info regarding the Dolphin. Webmaster Note: She is referring to the old Huxford Dolphin 24 website, not our website...
Your webmaster tracked down Cathy. She has a Cape Dory 25, Realization, and still keeps her boat at Lockwood Boat Works in South Amboy (Morgon), New Jersey. Her boat shared a slip with a Dolphin 24 named Starbuck some 10 years ago. She does not recall the owners name but recalls the boat had a white hull. We contacted Lockwood Boat Works who advise they no longer have a boat named Starbuck in their computer system.
DFIs take notice - we are trying to find this boat and the contact info for our Dolphin 24 Roster.
