Bob McKenna's Petrel, a 1962 or later O'Day Dolphin, Mystic, Connecticut (updated January 11, 2010)

October 19, 2008. Your webmaster got this photo in the late 1990's in the mooring area south of the Mystic River Bridge in Mystic, eastern CT. She is a 1962 or later O'Day built boat. The wood cap on the molded fiberglass combing, molded mast step, low bridgedeck, wider, tapered companionway, and wider main hatch, are characteristic. Maybe she originally had an inboard and the exhaust has been glassed over? Or maybe she had always been an outboard boat? She may have a transom well but cannot tell from this photo.. Her blue green deck and house are unique.

March 16, 2009 - One of our field investigators identified this boat for us. She belongs to Bob McKenna at Ram Is YC in Noank. She has been out of the water for a couple of years behind Bob's house for a little 'R&R".

Stay tuned
