May 6, 2011. Giles Grimstone has been trying to get some more info about Astrolabe and has succeeded. Here is a copy of an email he got from prior owners Pete and Kate Freeman (minor edits).

Hi Giles

Thanks for your email. I and two friends did own the Astrolabe, a S&S24. I was not involved with the boat for very long and am afraid that I cannot tell you anything about her history. We bought Astrolabe in Auckland and had her trucked down to Mana where we sailed from. Certainly was a great little boat and fun to sail. We had some good trips across Cook Strait in her and cruised the Marlborough Sounds.

I saw her recently back at Mana but I had not heard that she was for sale again. Sorry I can't help fill in the gaps but I enjoyed looking at your website.
