hello world,

I'm going to have to do some serious fairing on my centerboard once I have it repaired....

any suggestions on a good fairing compound for use below the waterline?

I want something with great adhesive properties, so it doesnt flake off when (not if) I run aground.

Use a good epoxy(System3 or???)
http://www.systemthree.com

I used System3(It's a simple two to one epoxy) to cold-mold sheath my Hallberg P-28 and had no problems with it. You will need a good sandable filler.

When done fairing (read a lot of sanding!) clear coat with straight epoxy resin, sand, prime and paint. I glassed the bottom of my hull, around the keel section, just in case of grounding.

best of luck
