The companionway hatch on #227 has been screwed with somewhere along the way.
It will lay on the slide tracks...but does not actually attach. I want to fix this but I'm not sure what was there originally.....
would someone mind taking a picture of thiers so I can match it?
This is what I have....

So you're asking what keeps the hatch from just lifting off the cabin top? I'll look when I go down to Yanqui (#197) tomorrow. My
last boat, though (Monty 17)' it was nothing. Just sat there on its own weight.

I checked and my hatch is exactly the same as yours. Nothing holds the hatch down other than it's own (considerable) weight.

Grand Finale has retainers molded into the leading and trailing edges of the hatch sides. They break off over time. I've considered
screwing a retainer plate to the edges of the hatch corners to replace/re-enforce these retainers.

Boy, as heavy as my cover is, I have to think it would take a near turtling to get that hatch off. Doesn't seem like the retainers
would be worth the time, certainly not on a river like me.
