Greetings all:

I am hoping to learn the dimensions of the eyebrow on the Yankee Dolphins built around 1970. Mine are missing and I am almost ready to fabricate a new pair.

Please include the exact width and thickness and length as well as the position on the cabin side as measured from the cabin top.

Many thanks!

J

Specifically what are you calling the eyebrow?

I can measure mine.

The eyebrow is that thin line of teak that runs along the entire cabin side near the top. On each side of the cabin.

My boat arrived missing hers and I need to fabricate new ones.

Thanks for offering to measure yours. I appreciate it. Everyone else must be away or they have lost their tape measures.

Mine are loose in the V-berth, I'll measure them for you tomorrow. There are mounting holes in the cabin top where they used to be mounted and I'll send those measurements to you also

Unfortunatly the forum is not as active as I'd like....thus the delay.

Mine measure 5/8" x 1/4"

Currious to see what #300's measure.

Grand Finale's eyebrows are 5/8 wide 1/2" thick. The top edge located at the top edge of the side wall, just below the end of the radius edge.

I am restoring #204 and my port side is broken in the middle. I have observed that they most likely break due to a mistep by crew on the side deck climbing onto the cabin top. Therefore a thicker eyebrow, say 1/2", may give resistance to breakage. Rounding the edges, especially the upper, would deflect the foot from staying on the eyebrow and using it as a foot hold. Also the thicker wood creates more retention for bung plugs. Any thoughts anyone?

sounds good.

I think mine were probably 1/2" when they were made...

when I take a screw out there is a pretty good amount of teak under it, but the rest is worn away....kinda looks like little teak washers attached to the eyebrow.
