Spent the weekend sailing in San Francisco Bay on a friends boat. Exciting is the only way to describe it! Thinking about the Coastal Cup next year and am wondering how the San Francisco Dolphins do going through the slot and beyond? Any recomendations on sail selection?

Beautiful boats and fair winds!

It's been over 12 years since I had my Dolphin on the Bay. It was my maiden voyage after buying the boat. My young son and my girlfriend spent the time going across the Slot in the cabin and V-berth marking the hull where water was coming through the toe rail bolt holes. The lee rail was well underwater going across the Slot. As I recall I had taken in one reef and had the storm jib up. You definitely need to be able to reef easily.
