Time to get a new truck and I am wondering what other Dolphin owners are using to tow their boats with. Especially those that launch
from a trailer. My current truck tows the ski boat ok and has moved the Dolphin back and forth to storage, but I know I'll need something
beefier to tow to the coast or launch from my local ramp.
Beautiful boats and fair winds!

Hi Mike - I towed Savili with a Tacoma pickup from Portland Maine to Portland Oregon. It's rated for 7K and had a tow package which in
addition to the hitch includes a trans cooler. The trailer was a steel double axle with surge brakes, and the boat was dry & empty. I
wanted to weigh the load but didn't get a chance. The mileage showed truck was slogging, averaged maybe 10 mpg but that covers a few
mountain ranges and headwinds in the midwest.
Aluminum trailer would be nice to cut the total weight, but not in the budget. Future plans of trailer sailing might justify a bigger tow
rig, but for now the Toyota has proved itself for seasonal in/out service locally.
