July 1, 2014 Rob sent in the following info (minor edit). We had this boat on our NZ Roster but had little information about her. His email sent staff on a frenzied search and we discovered that Senior DFI Giles Grimston first told us about her in an email back on February 13, 2012. Giles said he had had a chat with 'Steve' the owner of Free Spirit II, an S&S 24 moored in Omokoroa, who advised there was a blue hull Falcon moored near him named Chivas Regal. While we got her on our NZ Roster we failed to get this tidbit on a page for Chivas Regal. She is has now been found twice, and as a consequence we are pleased to announce that Rob is our latest DFI (Down Under Field Investigator)

Just spotted S&S Falcon "Chivas Regal" for sale on TradeMe. She's a tota insurance write-off and since the website has very little information on this boat I thought it would be of interest to you that she has surfaced. Currently on the hard at Tauranga, Bay of Islands.

CHIVAS REGAL. As is, where is. Insurance constructive total loss. Acting for insurer. Vessel is GRP, with damage at the bow and extending down the starboard side, generally adjacent to the gunwale and deck join. The interior is messy, some cabinetry will need to be replaced. Items of specific value include sails, mast, two bottom handle winches, two top handle winches, stern rail, lead keel. Repairable if you have the right skills and enthusiasm. Currently at Bridge Marina, Tauranga. Can be viewed on hardstand. Successful purchaser will become liable for hardstand charges and all other responsibilities from two days after the auction. Recommend prospective bidders view first.

Just had a fascinating chat with Steve who owns Free Spirit 2 sail number K2343 which he bought off Vince Satherly. She is currently moored in Omokoroa. Near her is a blue Falcon called Chivas Regal. Steve has promised photos.
