Arkansas Dolphin, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

April 6, 2011. This is one that fell throught the cracks. In a too infrequent clean up of old files this Craigslist ad was found. The entry date in the file was June 16, 2010 and the ad date was May 2, 2010. From the ad, and her Palmer inboard, she appears to be an O'Day, or perhaps a Lunn built boat. There was no other file content, no follow up email....

This may have come in from a DFI (Dolphin Field Investigator), and if so, maybe that DFI will see this and shed some light on it. Sailing in that part of Arkansas, near Fayetteville, is on Beaver Lake and we are checking in that area. Here is the ad.

This is a True Classic. The Dolphin 24 was the first fiberglass sailboat designed by Sparkman & Stephens. She was commissioned by George O'Day owner of O'Day Sailboats. She was designed as a Midget Ocean Racer. LOA 24"2', LWL 19'0", Beam7'8", Draft board up 2'10" board down 5'2", Displacement 4250, ballast (lead) 1650 lbs. Sail area 298 sq w/jib. She has a full keel w/centerboard and is powered by a rebuilt 8hp Palmer gasoline inboard engine. Hull has been algriped and deck has been painted. All outside teak trim including hatch guides. hand rails, cockpit combing boards, and winch mount boxes have removed and refinished with six coats of marine varnish. She's the prettiest boat on the lake or even when sitting on her very own factory EZ Loader trailer. To many extras to list. E-mail me if you want more information.
